Alberta Online Casino Check: Is Your Site Legal Yet?

On 13 July 2026, the Government of Alberta let private companies run online gambling sites. Before that day, Play Alberta was the only legal one. Now every site has to pass two checks before it may take bets from people in Alberta.

First, the company behind the site has to be registered with AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis), which oversees gambling in the province. Next, it has to sign a business agreement with AiGC, the Alberta iGaming Corporation. AiGC is the provincial body that runs online gambling, which people call iGaming.

Our search box checks both official lists: AGLC's register and AiGC's list of registered sites. A site has to appear on both before it can accept your bets, no matter what its ads claim.

It is, as long as you are an adult and you play on one of the legal sites listed here.

Sites with no registration are still out there, and they are easy to find. Before the new rules, about 70% of Alberta's online gambling went through them, the province estimates. Alberta's rules that protect players do not cover these sites. One of those protections is self-exclusion: you ask to be blocked, and every legal site keeps you out for the time you chose.

On opening day, 22 sites held a registration, the province announced. More sites have opened since then, each one after its company signed an agreement with AiGC. We follow AiGC's list, so a new site shows up here as soon as you can play on it.

You bet real money on every site here, so decide how much you can afford to spend before you sign up. Need a break? AGLC can block you from every legal site in Alberta, for anything from six months to three years, through its Self-Exclusion Program.
